Daily Diary – 28th April 2018

In by Sean

Today I was doing a beach cleanup with my work.

Up early for a Saturday

Got woken by little Mr at 7am today. I would say it was an early wake up for a Saturday, but it’s every day early start – so no different. Today though I was off to a beach cleanup for a couple of house with my work.

Basically, we just walk around for a couple of hours and pick up rubbish to make one of the local, less council cared for, beaches nicer to go visit.

So, I got up, made both the kids their breakfast, had my coffee and then got ready.

Out for the walk

I set off for my walk and cleanup. Most people were in 2s and 3s but I prefer to work alone – I prefer to not have to make conversation as I find it difficult for that period of time. So, lots of people all set off one way, I went the other way around and started my clean up.

I spent about 2 hours in the end and got quite a good walk out of it. I had the odd occasional text from my wife who had taken not so little Miss to her Karate and was out in the shops with little Mr.

I finished and headed home, getting back just as lunch was done.

Out for some DIY

After lunch, we headed off to B&Q. We needed a couple of new blinds. In there we only found one we were looking for, so we ended up going to The Range – and having a coffee while there.

Then it was back home, with a stop off to get a couple of bits for dinner – it was past 5 by then.

Once home, little Mr went playing. Not so little Miss went off with her tablet and we chilled for a bit.

Then it was time for dinner – we just had some pizza in the end. I had to log on and do a bit of work at 8pm, so I tried putting little Mr to bed. He was not having any of it, so ended up bringing him back down at 9pm to chill for a bit.

In the end, it was around 9:45pm when he finally nodded off. Phew.

I recently came across the following quote

“If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”
― Maya Angelou

This is my new goal in life. Not to conform to be normal, but to be amazing and I hope to inspire you to be amazing too.
